Hello,
I have decided that i would like to get my RN but i am so confused as to where to start. I am 24 years old and already have a bachelors degree in another area so some of the pre-req's are already taken care of but i still have a few that are not. I would like to attend a small-medium sized school or program somewhere in NY. I am currently located in Albany, NY but i am open to relocating. I do not want an accelerated program. I had about a 3.3 GPA in college and would like to get a lot of hands on in a nursing program. The problem is i do not know where. Does anyone have any advise as to a good program that may fit my needs??? I feel like i have been searching with no luck and am still at base 1. Thank you so much for any input. :wink2:

Melissa,
I highly recommend Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy. It's a small, hospital based program with amazing instructors. You receive a lot of individual attention because of the small size. They also have a wonderful NCLEX passing rate.
I had a BS in another field, and attended Samaritan to change my career. I graduated with very strong nursing skills, and have found unlimited opportunities in the area. I can't say enough about what a wonderful program it is!!
Please PM me with any questions!

I know that this is an old thread, but I am a newbie here and have applied to Samaritan's nursing program. I cannot PM yet (under 15 posts!), but I'd love to talk to you somehow about it.
I'm most curious... and if anyone else would know, that would be great..... how it works with a January start. It seems as if Nursing III is only offered in the summer, but I will only have taken Nursing I at that time. I wonder if I have to wait an entire year to take nursing III? What a bummer, if so!
Any help would be great!!
Thanks so much,
Brandy
