Hi allnurses,
I received my denial letter to the nursing program and it stated its possible I could be a replacement if applicants declined their acceptance. Does this happen very often? Were any of you a replacement for someone who declined acceptance? They stated to keep orientation date open just in case I am a replacement is this a gleamer of hope or just a nice way to let you down gently. It would still be a lottery draw for the replacement. Just curious.

It is possible because many people apply to multiple programs. They accept entry in one program and the rest are now open to be filled by replacements.

You'll have better luck posting using the school's name you're talking about. Also, look for threads about your school from previous semesters on here. You may find that someone posted about being an alternate and see if they got in or not.
