Licensure Number

i took my NCLEX-RN July 18 2012 for New York State and passed. It's been 21 days and i still haven't received my license number for my profession. have anyone had this kind of experience with NYS? i tried calling them and it's like my number is blocked and the operator keeps telling me that there's a high volume of calls that they can't even allow me to wait in line and just call later. i sent an email to their email address and waiting for the reply. i would like to go to there office in albany but it's a 5 hour travel from my place. can any give me an opinion about this?

    I am dealing with the same thing!! I took my NCLEX just a week after you did, but still is a LONG time to wait fora License number! I have gotten through to someone before, and she said to call at like 8:30 on a Monday, when they're not too busy to call. I also hear that because NYS is SOOO backed up, they close the phone lines on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-5!! Crazy, right?! I am going to call tomorrow at like 8:00 and ask them what is taking so long!

    Also, I had to call them and ask for my ATT a while back. I waited on the line for a FULL HOUR, and when I finally got through to someone, either they hung up on me or I got cut off, before I could even say my name. SO frustrating! But after that I called again, and got through after only 15 minutes of being on hold. Weird... I guess all it takes is patience. It's shocking how backed up they are, it's terrible!!!

    I really thought that all I would have to do was pass the NCLEX and I would be good to go. It's so unfair that we have to wait so long when we have taken care of everything!

    I am also tempted to go to Albany, too. I want to ask them if it would be worth the drive to take care of it once and for all. If they think that might help I'll go up ASAP! I'll let you know what I find out!

    don't panic at this point! as a card carrying member of the crusty ol' bat society, i had to wait

    several weeks before i knew i had passed and to receive my license. back in the dark ages, we

    were sent two copies -- a wallet-sized one to carry and a larger one which you gave to your primary

    employer. if you had a second job, you xeroxed your license and gave them the copy.

    we had been told we should all receive our licenses six weeks after the test, but not to panic until

    it had been 9-10 weeks. all my friends had their licenses, but 12 weeks later, mine still hadn't arrived

    yet.:eek: i called the bon and eventually got through. i was told i had passed! my license was marked

    as having been sent out.

    they sent a new one but instead of having it in july, i had to wait until setember.:nurse:

    I took my nclex on july 20 and I still havent received my license number either and my name is not listed on the BON website. I called the office of professions today and was able to speak to an operator. She said they are on test dates from july 25 now and that I should have received my number by now so she would put my file at the top of the list and I should get my number by the end of the day. So if you still haven't received your license number you should try calling again! It took almost an hour to get someone on the phone but at least now I should be getting my license soon! :yeah:
