License Question

Published

Can somebody please explain to me the process that takes place from the time you pass your NCLEX at pearson to it being sent to BON and and your license being posted on BON or mailed to you. the time process I am from massachusetts

I'm from Massachusetts, and hopefully this info helps. Pearson you can expect your results exactly 48 hours from testing (this includes weekends and holidays as well). It takes about 3 business days for the MA BON to post your name if you've passed (can take longer if you tested on a Thursday or Friday- I tested on a Thursday and my name was posted on the BON the next Tuesday). I think I waited couple of weeks to get my license in the mail. Hope this answered your question!

Maybe I'm on the wrong website, I took the test on Monday July 7th, but I don't see my name posted on BON. Do yo know the website for the BON.

thank you, for the advice

Yep. go here: http://license.reg.state.ma.us/public/licque.asp?color=red&Board=RN. Is this the website you went to? If you tested on the 7th and passed, your name should have been on the BON by Thursday.

Yes, that's the exact website, but my name is not posted I went under nurses, wrote my personal information and the response stated that they were no licenses found under that name and info.

Hmmm...Did you check Pearson for your results? We do have quick results in MA.

Yeah, I passed. I checked with quick results and under status it says pass.

Congratulations! The BON is probably backed up...since it's that time of year where everyone is taking the boards. Congrats again! :)

I'm from MA, too. Tested on July 8th, found out I passed through Pearson's quick results exactly 48 hours after I finished my exam. 3 days after my exam, my name & license number was posted on the BON website. Haven't gotten anything in the mail yet, as I'm imagining, that probably takes a few weeks. Good luck!! :nurse:

Now, I'm definitely concerned I did my test on July 7th, and my name is not posted on BON yet. I wonder what's happening.

Did you check your quick results on Pearson to see if you passed the exam? I imagine the BON can get backed up, as the other poster mentioned, especially since tons of people are taking their boards right now. My friend tested about a week before me, and didnt have his license posted until a day or two before mine was, so I wouldn't worry. If Pearson says you passed, you passed. The BON will reflect this information eventually. Didn't mean to freak you out, was just stating the time line that happened with my own results.

Also, if your name has hyphens or apostrophes in it, try typing your name without them and see if that helps.
