Late COTs

Our rehab director is double checking her minutes and she gave me a few late COTs. Some of them I have already submitted the next PPS assessment. I know I will be out of sequence, but how else will it affect the MDS as a whole? Will it also affect the payment for the COT (7 days look back.)? She also gave me 4 ARD changes just for this week alone. Thanks for the help!

Without specific dates it will be difficult to answer your question accurately. You may want to review the instructions and implications for late PPS assm'ts in pp 2-73 to 2-75 and share it with your Rehab Director.

If the COT ARD falls on the same day or before the ARD of one of your submitted PPS assm't, the COT does not need to be done separately, see p2-51 1st bullet)

Unscheduled PPS assm'ts (COT, EOT, SOT) do not affect the regular PPS sched (14, 30, 60).

ARDs may be changed provided you are still within the allowed ARD window (from the earliest ARD up to the latest grace day of a PPS assm't, p2-42). Outside the window, see the implications mentioned above.
