KAPLAN VS NCLEX

How similar were the questions?

Featured Replies

I found of all the different NCLEX test prep books/programs, that Kaplan was as close to the NCLEX of all of them.

some people hate Kaplan others swear by it. I loved Saunders and used it all the time w/LPN school, but our RN program used both Saunders and Kaplan. I found Kaplan much more helpful. Saunders seemed more content based (lower level below passing line questions) and Kaplan was more application/interventions etc (higher level at/above passing line question).

But as I said, which progam is best depends on who you ask ;)

I wouldn't say Kaplan is the best but it was what worked for me. It's strategy so you really need to have a solid grasp on your content in order to be really successful. I used it as my only source of questions almost the entire time I studied. The last 2 days I used ATI to brush up on my content.

As for similarities...I found it to be very similar to NCLEX. During my exam I had a handful of questions that were almost word for word questions I had in QBank.

I agree it was very similar. I really liked Kaplan. The questions were very similar and the layout is similar as well.

I thought the Kaplan questions didn't have enough SATAs, hotspot questions, etc. They are mostly the regular old multiple choice.
