Hi Everyone! ,
I'm in desperate need of help. I just found out that I failed, on my third attempt. .. I'm a nursing student from Puerto Rico, trying to get my license in New York. The first two times that I took the test I did not feel prepared at all. I was working as a manager in retail and did not have my priorities straight . That was 2011 and 2012...I took the test a year apart. This year I finally got a much relaxing job where I was able to concentrate on my studies. I used saunders, which I love, helped me so much with content. Nclex 3500 and ncsbn. I knew that I needed reinforcement on medications and lab's. ..wich I swear I thought my test was 50% just that. I'm not giving up. ..I just need to know wich review would be better. They are both happening at the same time in my area, and I need to pick one. Which one do you all recommend for someone in my situation? Thank you so much. Please give me advise soon, I need to register today!

Both if you can afford them. Hurst is mostly content and Kaplan is strategy and questions. I believe you need both content and strategy to pass this exam.

I depends on what your needs are. I chose Hurst because I needed more content review and had no problem with the NCLEX-style test questions. Good luck!!

I did Kaplan and loved it. It teaches strategies you need to answer the questions even if not sure about the content. Plus you get to review a lot of content while practicing questions. If you follow the study plan and take advantage of all online resources you should be fine

I chose Hurst because of their great content material. I am very slow on Endocrine & Psych and Marlene does a great job on explaining it better than my professor.
Kaplan like others here are more into strategies, how to choose the right answer.
If you decide to go with Hurst. I also liked to test my self on each area. So some questions with the same breakdown helps. I liked ATI, and Davis RN Success.
