I'm going to start working for kaiser the 28th of this month as an on call nurse. im taking a huge risk here where they only guarantee only 20 hours a week and im leaving a full time job. the reason being is that im tired of a 2 hour round trip commute, and i really don't like what im driving too the job isnt for me and i toughed it out for a year and realized that a desk job (case manager) isn't for me.

so my question is has anyone worked as an LVN for kaiser what is it like? is it a good place to work?

We have 2 Kaiser's in our area and they can be good to work at-it all depends though. Are you assigned to a specific floor because here temp workers are not and float all around. It can be hard because each speciality has certain ways they want things done. Also they are busy with high pt. loads.

I've worked at Kaiser 10 yrs +.I am always looking at other opportunities but have yet to find any that would make me leave. I too started as an on-call quickly bid up to short hr and then full time. The benefits of staying w/KP have been greater than what's in the market today although...I am starting to get postcards and letters from CHW and Sutter touting opportunities with them. Who knows what could happen?
