After spending many years completing my pre-reqs, I have finally been accepted into nursing school. This has been my dream for as long as I can remember. As the start date gets closer and closer, I am beginning to feel anxiety that I have never experienced before. What if I'm not good enough? Or can't handle it? In the past, I've always done things alone. I'm not an overly outgoing person and I really don't do well in study groups or having to participate in group projects. In the past I've also tended to not ask questions so I wouldn't come across as dumb to my peers.
My whole point to this paragraph is I just wanted to say thank you to those of you on this website. I've been following it for a couple of months now and from everything that I've seen (read) this is a fantastic forum, that not only tells you like it is, but it is also the cheerleader that everyone needs. Even though my anxiety level is continuing to grow, I'm becoming to realize that because of people like those on this forum, I will have somewhere to go where it will be okay to ask questions and not worry about feeling stupid or to share my frustrations. Again, thank you :-)

It's ok to be more of a loner in nursing school. I am and I have done fine..... at least, in regards to studying. I have found that even as a "loner" I have still made some good friends. I just don't do study groups. Not everyone in my program does. You still bond with friends in lab and clinical. Especially clinical. And yuk to group projects, I hate them. They actually can create divides with your classmates and that's no fun. Try not to be too anxious, expect craziness at first.... I mean, total flat out insanity the first semester. Then after a few weeks you get your groove. It'll be fine, good luck!

First off, glad you are finally entering nursing school. The end is so worth the journey. I would like to pass along advice about something that you posted....
Never, ever, ever sit on a question that you think may be stupid in fear that others may believe it to be so.
There really isn't a stupid question in nursing school. Ask every question you have because I guarantee you that someone else in class is thinking the same thing and will have the same question. Your understanding of the information is what will drive your success throughout your career.
Good luck, and always do your best. No one can ever ask anything more of you.

I was always a loner in nursing school. I had my friends outside of class of course, but I was never close to any of my classmates. I tried to stay out of their drama. It's okay. :) You'll do great! Good luck!
Thanks for all the encouragement!!
