Here is the run down. Don't score lower than a B as a final grade in any class. Do well on entrance exam test and you will get in.

Most point systems award points according to your grade and how many credits the class is worth.

Example:

Chemistry: Let's say you get a B in chemistry which equal to 3 points. You multiply this three points by 4 if the class is worth 4 credit points. Therefore, you have 12 out of a total of 16 possible points.

English: B(3) x 3(credit hours) = 9

Math: A(4) x 3(credit hours) = 12

Science Class: A(4) x 4(credit hours) = 16

You would have 37 points out of a total of 40.

I think it depends on your area. At my CC unless you score higher than a 95 and have residency, you can't have more than 1 B. It is insanely competitive with more than 400 applicants. But again it depends on what's normal for your area. I would always suggest making an appointment with an advisor to see what you need to do and what the average test scores and gpa is. That will give you an idea to what you need to improve your chances of getting in. Welcome to the club.

First off, congrats on your approach on becoming an RN! I am attending a local JCC for my classes too. There system, however, goes by a lottery. I know at least four ppl who got in the first try as long as your gpa was no lower than 2.0

Just make sure that your grades and score are competitive because you will find, as your explore this site, that individuals have gpa's between 3.5-4.0 along with very resonable test scores; and you will also find those with low gpa's and test score. Everyone has a story so, I would recommend exploring the site for similar questions just so you can have a basic idea of what some schools are looking for along with other study habits that work best for some students. Best of luck.
