Nursing Students LPN-RN

Specializes in Geriatrics.

Yesterday I had my advising session at the college I applied to get my RN at. I graduated in 2010 with my LPN Diploma at the same college. Hoped to get started this coming spring, thought all I needed was the HESI exam to get in. Turns out they have a new curriculum and my GPA from my previous college courses does not meet there requirements.. okay fine.. I will take the two courses they want me to take to see if I can get that raised, no big deal. Only problem is I want to take evening weekends so that I can keep working full time and this program is only offered every other year. So looks like I might not get to start until spring 2015

I am glad that the advisor remembered me from a few years back and remembered the crappy year I while enrolled for my LPN. My step-father had passed away suddenly and it really took me awhile to get my head back into nursing. Even after graduating and passing NCLEX it took me awhile to figure out that I actually do enjoy the profession. I don't know if it was from being a new nurse or the reality of our family's loss but I wanted to quit several times. These last few months something has changed and I know now I want to go on and pursue my RN.

Look for different schools. 2015 is a long ways away!

Do they offer the classes online or will they accept them from another college that offers the schedule you need?
