Study hard, but still make time for your friends and family. Take everything with a grain of salt. Lead others by example. Accept criticism from instructors with a smile. The year will go by fast. Do what you have to do, get your license and live your dream as a nurse! Good luck to you.
Thanks so much. Im sooooooooo nervous. How old are you? I will be twenty two when I finish the program.

[color=#2f4f4f]study hard! takes notes in lecture. study, study, study, retain, retain, retain. i will be done with my first semester as of tomorrow afternoon. it was tough at times, but it has been so rewarding. don't give up and take it a step at a time! go ahead and purchase your books now if you are able and start reading the first couple of chapters briefly, but not so much as to overwhelm yourself before the program begins. stay ahead in your studies and focus on lecture. you really do obtain so much just from going and sitting in lecture every day. i have listened to my instructor talk for 4-5 hours majority of the mondays-thursdays each week, aside from when we had clinical rotation. sometimes it was a bore, but bring coffee and keep on trucking along! as my instructor said many times before this semester came to an end..."this is the meat and potatoes to the rest of your journey!" it is normal to be as nervous as you are. relax as much as you can and know that you are going to be just fine as long as you are dedicated and focused! :)
i will give you some of the tips that i learned this semester in which i feel are of importance!
do not focus on others' grades more than your own! if you group is as small as mine (there are 15 of us) you become pretty close by the time the semester is over. everyone shares their grades and seem to get pretty nosy as to what you are making. i kept beating myself up by the a's in the class when i would be one of the ones who made a c on the same test, etc, etc, etc. i even had a struggle with beating myself over b's or low a's...if you don't get it yet, you will by the end of this semester...c = lpn. that doesn't mean not to try your best, but do not beat yourself up when you make lower grades than others or than what you expected. focus on you and your studies.
as the previous poster said...take everything with a grain of salt! take criticism maturely and learn from the mistakes you do make.
stay away from those who are not taking it as seriously as you are, and be very weary of study groups. not all study groups are bad, but some just want to get together, eat, drink, and have fun rather than study! you don't learn anything from that.
best of luck! :)
Thanks. So Much I Need All the advice I can get. I really appreciate it.:redbeathe
