I'm getting layed off in two weeks from my sales job (after 7 years), and am looking to find a Nurses Aide or Transporter (or other part-time) job in a Macomb or Oakland County Hospital for a couple years while I work on my nursing degree. I've heard that hospitals work around your class schedule and I'm sure the experience would be priceless.

Does anyone know of hospitals, retirement homes, ect.. that are hiring for positions like this right now?

My plan as of today is to visit all the hospitals HR offices in person to deliver a resume.

hospitals are more difficult to get hired as cna becuase normally they are looking for people with experience. nursing homes will take anyone without any experience and will train to become cna. the training is usually 2 weeks, some are paid some require applicants to pay for the training. i know several nursing homes that offer cna trainings several times a year. they are: cantenburry on the lake, lourdes nursing home in waterford and georgian bloomfield in bloomfield hills, mi. good luck with your job search
