:nurse::nurse:Hello all.. I have an interview tomorrow morning for a nurse intern position. I have always wanted to work in the ER but have no experience there. I am a sophmore in a RNBSN program and have over 20 years experience as an aid in medsurg, and LTC.. How can I sell myself when I have no reason for wanting the position other than I love the excitement of the ER. I had an interview last week and I didnt do well. She wanted to know if I had any questions for her and it seemed like she wanted me to come up with this really great question , which I had no idea how to answer.. please can you guys help!!!!

i'm interested in the ED because of the variety of patients seen and its fast pace. what kind of duties will i be responsible for as a nurse intern?

if there is down time, would you have any objection to me making myself available to observe procedures i'm not yet familiar with?

will i be assigned to one nurse as their intern or will i be rotated among your staff? (it would be great to see a variety of techniques used by your people)

how do you feel about me becoming acquainted with all the various duties in this ED, from triage to transport?

you had an interview for this job or another one? I'm confused..

anyway, always have a few good questions to ask. That shows you have been thinking about it and are interested.
