Job application status

Hi all,

I recently applied to a job and they called me last week for it. One recruiter and then another the following day. She then set me up with a interview with the manager of the floor. At this time, my status said “interview in progress.” Today I spoke with the nurse manager, and I felt as though the interview went well. She sent me a follow up email so I could have her contact info and told me she had one more interview after me then HR would call. Well no one called, and “interview in progress” is gone. But nothing else is there. Whereas others either say “unconsidered”, “closed”, “application in review”. I’m just wondering has this happened to anyone? What does it mean?

It means we are in the middle of a pandemic and the hospital you applied at is probably having to furlough people, shut down entire units due to low census (all those cancelled elective surgeries) and may be on a hiring freeze with no orientation taking place.

Thanks for your comment. However the position is for covid help so there’s no freeze. We had already spoke about online orientation as well

Then I would guess they either have or are about to make their offer. I would call the recruiter to reiterate your interest and ask for a status update. Good luck!

they get swamped, I had to call when I knew I had aced my interview. The websites are notoriously behind, especially if you are going to be hired.
