JCAHO

Just curious: if a JCAHO surveyor asks you a question and you totally flub, can you be fired for this? Do they take your individual name and report it to administration?

I have no experience with them visiting but of course I am thinking of the worst case scenario and what would happen.

Thanks!

I find, "I'm not quite sure right now but let me look into it and I'll get back to you shortly" is always a diplomatic reply. (If appropriate.)

As much as the administration likes to scare us, DO NOT be scared of the surveyors! They aren't trying to "catch" the staff, they're trying to "catch" the facility. Just take a deep breath, and answer truthfully. If you need to, tell them you'll need to look up the answer.
