Ivy Tech Fall 2010 Students

I figured that I would make a new thread now that the semester has officially started. :)

How is everyone's first day going? In our Fundamentals Lab this morning we pretty much just covered the syllabus, talked about test-taking tips and study skills. We have our first practicum tomorrow, over handwashing. I've got lecture in an hour, and Pharmacology begins on Wednesday.

Good luck to everyone this semester! I'm interested to see how the curriculum varies campus to campus.

It was a LONG day. But not a bad one... We had orientation at the hospital this morning and got badges. In lab we did handwashing, ted hose, restraints, gloves, and ROM. Next up is 2 days of lecture then Pharm on Friday. I am fortunate, I got a really good group and it was a lot of fun. OH we got our syllabus for 100 and 101 on Friday in our second orientation. That way we could read the chapters and watch the cd's prior to class today.

Are you guys starting your clinical right away? We don't start ours until the end of September, after we finish Fundamentals. I have to remember to pick up my badge this week.

Today has been SO LONG. I have been up since about 4 AM (my 1-year-old decided to wake up unusually early - go figure) and tonight I had my CPR class from 6-10. I still have some reading I need to do for tomorrow. So wiped. I guess I'd better get used to this!

First day for me (Columbus) was Fundamentals and Pharmacology. LONG DAY for sure, but I still loved it. Today was Lab and we only made it through introductions, syllabus, handwashing and PPE.
