IV certification?

If this has been answered somewhere else in this forum please show me where.

I'm looking to get IV certified in the Columbus area, I'm awaiting verification of license(LPN/LVN) from CA, where I'm pheblotomy certified but not IV. I thought the Red Cross did it, but I dont see the class on thier schedule. Is there anyplace semi-local (I'd go to Cleveland or Cinci for a weekend if necessary) where I can get this? I just got hired at a new job and they'd like me to be certified ASAP.

thanks in advance

Try Educational Concepts I'm pretty sure she has a web site. This lady runs an IV cert program and goes all over to do it.

Please expand on your question. Why does the facility you work at not have a program in place to certify you? Usually a couple of classes, some review of certain drugs, a review of fluids, lines, catheters, site care and 10 sticks completed is enough to certify anyone, RN or LPN.

I'll be starting a new position at a Pain Management clinic tomorrow. It is an office with just one doctor, not a large facility. They want me to get my IV certification but I had no idea where to get it. Thanks to above posters I have a few more places to look.
