Did you attend the seminar? If so what did you think? I am attending on there next tuesday. Wanted to get some feedback.

It wasn't for me. Way too much (approx 50K) for an associates degree. Credits don't transfer if you want to go on to get a BSN. Just sounded like a scam to me. No one could give me a straight answer on the schedule. First they say that you can work it around your job, family, etc. and then later they say you need to be flexible. Glad I attended the seminar though so I know what to look for in a school.

Well, they say that they just got approved by the nursing board. Interested to see whats going on. I think I will still go to the seminar. Thanks for the info. I want to get into to school quickly and they said their next class start in Dec.

Why not check out Apollo College? They charge ~$46,000 for a ADN, which sounds liek what other private colleges charge, but since DeVry just bought Apollo, the credits transfer to DeVry's BSN.

Also, don't let anyone tell you you can go to classes around your work schedule - you can't. As a matter of fact, the recruiters may not tell you, but the instructors will tell you that no one is able to complete the Apollo College Nursing program (and I'm assuming any other full time two year nursing program while working full time).

As for the schedule of classes, yeah it's hard to get even for current students.

FYI - I'm a current Apollo College nursing student about to start 3rd semester (of 6 semesters). We start our first clinical rotation this semester.

I am actually going to a seminar on friday for apollo. Where you able to get anough loans to pay for the school? Also are you able to work part time at all?

I was planning on not working, but my employer is wondering if I can work part time. I am more interested in the apollo program anyway.

Apollo's financial aid department in the West Valley Campus actually was very helpful in navigating through the paperwork. I was able to get 100% of the cost financed.

If you do not have a Bachelor's degree (from any discipline) already you will probably qualify for grants (that's money you don't pay back).

As for working, the first two semesters, you should be able to work at least PT if not FT if your employer is flexible. Starting the third semester, it'll be really hard to work at all, but only you (and your employer) can decide that.

Thanks so much for your feedback, it is very helpful. Hopefully I can work part time atleast the first semester to get someone trained for my position at my current job.
