what could be the issue?

I was out eating lunch with my family yesterday and I checked my phone. I had a missed call and voicemail from a hospital that I interviewed with a week and a half ago. It was someone from HR, saying that she wanted to discuss the position I interviewed for and to please call her back. Less than 20 mins later I called her back and left a message. 2 hours went by and no call back. I called again at the end of the day and nothing. Right at 5p I called the actual HR dept instead of just her direct number and they said she has just left and call back in the AM. I called at 10:30 today, someone answered and I asked to speak to the person that called me. She said hold on, transferred me, the phone rang once and went straight to voicemail.

Im really bugging out that Ive missed out on a job b/c I can't get in touch with her. What could be the reason that she hasn't returned my call or answered the phone in 24 hours? I really want this job so I dont want to give up or just forget about it. what could be going on?

Its probably just a problem with the phone. I don't think a professional would ignore your calls or just not call back:confused:. Maybe call the HR department again and tell them that everytime you try to call no one answers. Say that you just wanted to make sure she was getting your messages. Hopefully they can help you out. Good luck with everything! :nurse:

I just cant imagine it would be a problem with the phone, b/c I called her direct # again today and someone else answered. When I asked to speak to her it rang one time and went to voice box. I just dont understand where this lady is or what she could be doing that she missed 4 calls. And also I dont want to annoy them or seem rude or desperate

Is it a goverment job? lol

LOL! nope:)

I called back again and spoke to HR and the receptionist said the lady is in today, and she does return peoples calls and there is nothing wrong with the phone lines. I left another message and still no call back. Well, I guess thats that

the reason is twofold

1) she is busy

2) she is rude

Haha! I was just about to give up and decided to call one more time. She finally answered......and I got the job!!!

congrats! yeah I was gonna say HR is really bad about returning phone calls! Maybe it depends on what hospital system you are at but that has been my experience as well. It took them FOREVER to hire me for a CNA position, but I finally got the job after playing email and phone tag!:coollook:
