Is there a nurses' organization that includes all nurses?

By which I mean LPNs.

I will not join an organization that excludes my sisters and brothers. Is there such an organization, that advocates for us all?

There is an affiliate the "Caregiver and Healthcare Employees Union" (CHEU).

I've had lunch with some at a hospital where I worked registry a few years ago. An RN sheepishly told me the real leaders regarding the claning of units and rooms, meal and break relief, and other patient care issues are LVNs, care partners (CNA's), housekeepers, and respiratory therapists.

I don't think they will organize where the LVNs are already in a union.

A Supreme Court decision determined that registerd nurses can be a bargaining unit.

A nurses only unit of RNs and LVN/LPNs is not allowed.

Our lVNs are in a different union. We work well together. But our union is stronger on patient care. The other union does protect nurses who speak out. They use our forms to notify management of unsafe assignments. Gnerally all nurses and nursing employees sign it togther, secretaries, CNSs, LVNs and RNs including th charg nurse.

Many of us have been friends for decades. Since I was an LVN.

Huh. Interesting.
