does anyone here know if intro to chemistry fills requirements to enter into other sciences, if you haven't taken chemistry in high school? i can call the school and ask but they aren't open right now and i couldn't even get ahold of them to make a payment earlier today.. ugh. but i was thinking to take one course at a time for now, but if i take two, psychology and intro to chemistry i think i may be okay.. for someone who was never very 'studious' and been out of school for 3 years, and working 40hrs per week (mostly nights), do you think taking psych (online) and intro to chem would be too difficult? i have never taken chemistry so i am not sure what it's really like! i would be taking it @ the conway academic center through nhctc-berlin with k. comey.. anyone have any experiences with this teacher or academic center??

does anyone out here know if into to chem fulfills the requirement? says it doesn't fulfill graduation requirements, but i don't need it for graduation.. i need it just for a pre-req since i didn't take it in college.. thanks!!

Yes, the intro chem class should fulfill the requirement for entry into the sciences. It does not count towards graduation credits because it is intended to be a replacement for high school level chemistry, but as you stated that's really all you need it for. I don't know anything about the professor or course there, but I think that taking psych and intro chem would be do-able. They are courses in two different areas (psych is more reading/writing, whereas chem is more science/math), so it would be a good balance if you chose to take both.

Does it have a lab portion and is it 4 credits? I would check with your school directly. Also you may save yourself time just by taking Chem I as I was told there isnt that much difference in the two classes and most intro classes can not be transferred out to any programs.

I spoke with the admissions guy @ Berlin today and he said Intro to Chem should be fine. It IS fine for A&P courses. He did mention transferring.. and I asked so if I decide to got for my bachelors then I should/would have to take chem w/ lab. He said I should be fine because I have had nutrition with lab.... ?

But thats only if I do bachelors down the road.. I do not have that in my plans thus far.

Intro to Chem is only 3 credits, no lab. If it is what is required to get into the courses I need, that is what I will take instead of chem with lab, because it is offered in town here, versus me commuting.

So as of right now, I am taking Psych and Intro to Chem.. and my books are on their way.. and I have worked my schedule out with work, thankfully.
