I got an interview for the primary NP program at U of Toronto next week, I didn't know that they would do interviews as part of the process and I wonder if I'm one of the few that were asked to be interviewed? Is it because they are not sure if they want me or maybe this is a new thing that they are starting to do?
And what questions should I be prepared for???? I'm freaking out!!

I think most nursing programs do an interview as part of the admission process. I got an interview when I applied to the RN program I went to.
Prepare for them to ask you why you chose this program out of others? Why NP? There might be some OSCE type questions---you can google those up.
Treat it similar to a job interview. Good luck!

Hi Kissunshine,
I am an undergraduate student so unfortunately I'm not able to answer question, but I was curious about your credentials to get an interview with U of T. Would you mind sharing your education/work experience/ undergrad GPA/etc. I am not able to apply for a few years but I have heard these programs are quite competitive so I'm wondering what it takes to get an interview.
thank you!! Had my interview yesterday and man....i'm not getting my hopes up...
The program is much more competitive than I expected (esp U of T was just ranked the 1st in the country and 3rd in the world). They've got so many applicants and only 30 will get admitted.
The faculty was literally interviewing people back to back (I called into the conference call when they were still talking to another applicant, and my interview also got interrupted at the end when an applicant called in).
They say they would make a decision by the end of next week....fingers crossed....
I'm not the strongest applicant, my grade is just above the minimum requirement, and I have less than 3 years of acute care experience. I did ask them what they were looking for in a successful applicant and they gave me a lot of qualities (I can't even remember all of them anymore) such as:well rounded (wharever that means), good grades (which I don't have), good experience (I'm sure they have applicants with over 5-10yrs of nursing), good recommendation letter (I've never seen my recommendation letters so I don't know), research experience, etc.................
Just got my acceptance today, I'm so happy I don't even know what to say....
Thats awesome, congrats!!
