I have an interview for a Med./Surg. position tomorrow.

I am wondering what should I wear to the interview?

I always suggest a suit. Others might disagree, but I hear from managers all the time, that a professional appearance, no matter what type of job always makes the best impression. And appearance does count in interviews.

2nd vote for a suit or other appropriate "business attire." Doesn't matter that you won't be wearing that on the job.

A suit is almost always appropriate. But if you don't have a suit ... wear something that is roughly equivalent. For example, a nice dress would work (as long as it wasn't a "cocktail" dress or too short or too sexy). You might also wear a nice skirt and blouse and/or sweater. The idea is to look like an adult professional, not a kid or a young woman trying to seduce a date.

Nice slacks (and top) might also be an option -- IF you know that slacks are commonly worn at that hospital. However, unless you KNOW that slacks are commonly worn by the women in that place of business, I would avoid them.

So would a suit jacket and pants be ok. I've been looking on the internet and it says that women, when interviewing, should always wear a skirt.

I never wear a skirt to an interview. I wear a dark, navy blue or charcoal gray pant suit, white cotton or silk top and low heeled shoes. When in doubt call the human resources department and ask what the company's dress code is.

Jacket and pants or jacket and skirt are always appropriate! Good luck on the interview!

Skirt and a blouse! :) But then again, I have a biased opinion. I'm a guy and I think girls are so cute in skirts. Oh!! Wear your hair DOWN, thx!

I probably have NO business replying to this, haha! But hey, I couldn't resist. I AM a guy ya know! :) Besides, I was trying to be a little funny. (I promise I won't quit my day job guys!)
