My interview was very tough. They asked what I would do my capstone over asked if I would legally be able to prescribe insulin, what my scope of practice would be, what symptoms I would expect to see in my future patients.[/quote']

I have my interview for NP school coming up and am preparing by looking at different questions people were asked. I hadn't considered being asked questions like would I legally be able to prescribe insulin.

The strangest question I had during my interview was "Name 10 things that you can do with a Cantaloupe besides eating it"?

From what I've gathered from other NP students and also my Dad (who is a physician) most interviews aren't that intense. I was also asked what I would write my doctoral capstone paper over and how I would research it. I was however accepted to the program even though I felt like I blew that interview. Later I learned it was more about composure under stress and ability to speak under duress that was the focus rather than the answers to the questions.

That type of question is actually brilliant. It breaks the ice but also shows critical thinking in a unique kind if a way. If somebody couldn't give any response...eh. This is the type of question where you really can see a personality come out and know what type of person you are dealing with.

Ugh, I feel even worse about my interview now. I am applying to a psych NP program, and the questions were very general but I was not really prepared at all and just rambled and made no sense. They asked what my strengths are, what setting do I see myself working in, what concerns do I have in completing the program, do I want to go full or part time, etc. If it is all about maintaining composure under duress I am screwed
