If asked why they should accept you over the other applicants,
is it better to be aggressive and point out something like your goal is to be the best crna they ever produced or a different approach such as teachable, team player etc,.
how would any students or crnas answer this question if posed to you. Feedback woudl be appreciated

I was actually asked this question in my last interview, I was not prepared for it either. I thought only briefly about it befroe I answered with something like this- I am honest, hardworking, dependable, a patient advocate and a prefectionist in caring for my patients. Not sure if they liked my answer or not, but I have been accepted to the program. Just be honest and not afraid to pat yourself on the back occassionally

i think my reply was something like,...i may not be the most intellectually gifted person you will interview, but noone will work harder than me or has more desire than i do to attend this program.
honesty, and self evaluation are important. dont try to give what you think they want to hear, tell the truth, be confident in youself, that doesnt mean arrogant.

I too was asked this question first thing at my first ever anesthia interview. I was taken back and wanted to focus on me so I said something like I really want this and I am willing to work really hard to become a CRNA.. Probably not what they were looking for I did not get in.. When I asked the director why he stated" Your interview was not aggresive and assertive enough."
That was quite a blow because I tend to be over zealous and ambitious and assertive... Perhaps that was just not my day??
Oh well thank God there are other schools.. Keep trying till you get in is my new motto...
