injection procedure/sites?

Hi everyone,

i am a nursing student and need some help with injection procedure!

Which sites can be used? (can you explain?)

How do you know which size needle to use?

Which site is best for depot injections?

I know this probably sounds dumb to all you experts!!

Thankyou.

Please look it up and then ask the question, based on what you've learned.

Really, it's easier to just open the book than to post your question here.

joline,

If you use the google search engine and type in "injection sites", you should come up with several usable articles.

hope this will help you, it covers everything except the depot injections. You should be able to find that on your own with a good search engine.

Your drug reference book should contain all the answers to your questions. If you don't own one, buy one -- you should be using it all the time -- that's how you learn your meds, injections sites, etc. There are no short cuts -- you really need to look this information up as well as any medication you give. Good luck and hit the books.
