Also, does this course require a test at the end in which I would have to go somewhere to take or can it be done at home? Any information on this or what it is would be great; thank you!

Hello I took information literacy through Penn Foster. It was $70 and once I completed the exams I had to pay $10 to get the transcripts sent to Excelsior. It's two 20 questions exams. You must get approval from Excelsior first to take this exam through Penn Foster. I did so by contacting a nursing advisor by email. You take both the exams at home on the computer. It wasn't bad, I got a B and completed them both in two days. They will send you a module to your home but once you register you could access the module online and get started right away. You also enroll over the phone and once you sign your student agreement you can get started. Hope this helps.

I also did it through Penn Foster, after recommendations from this board. Totally worth it. Instead of spending 8 weeks and I bet $300 (can't remember the exact per hour cost of Excelsior credits) it was all done in an afternoon. I way rushed through it and I only scored a "C" but it's done and I was able to start my other courses the next week instead of having to wait 2 more months. I'm sure if you dedicated more than 2-3 hours, most anyone could score an "A" on it. Oh, and the price is like $70 plus a fee for transferring the credit to Excelsior (I think it was $10-15).
