Informatics

Hello there

Hope everyone is in good spirits. I'm loking to get into Nursing because 1)I want a career and not just a job, and 3) the money is good :chuckle , but I also love computers and very good at it. I was told that I can combine them both by studying Informatics.

Are there any nurses who studied or are studying the topic? And if so how is. I am also going to look it up on the web.

Thanks in advance for the replies :specs:

There is an infomatic component to the Excelsior MSN program. Just go to Excelsior.edu and find the nursing master's program. I don't really see how nursing and computers go together especially well but I get in a large hospital it might work. We have all IT guys in our computer/information division, no nurses. Guess I'm just not creative enought to see where the two would fit together.

Good luck. Informatics is an emerging field in nursing and hopefully after you complete your nursing there will be more graduate programs available. Excelsior mentioned above also has a certificate program.
