Informatics Preceptor

Hello,

I am a Master of Health Informatics student and will be starting the final class in November. I am struggling to get a hold of the major hospitals in my area and the school will not help at all. I believe it is OK to do this virtually. The preceptor must have at least a Master's in Informatics or a related field, and a minimum of two years of experience. Would anyone be willing to be a preceptor, or know where else I can look? I truly cannot even get a hold of people by phone. Thank you for any help.

Hello-

You can look on https://www.nursingnetwork.com/ for a preceptor. What school are you going to? I have done some precepting but not in informatics.

Hello,

Thank you, I did try that website but I can't afford the $125 fee. ? I'm in Arizona, but I am pretty sure a virtual preceptorship is OK. Honor Health is the only place that has responded to me but they want the school to submit a request in My Clinical Exchange, but the school said it's our responsibility to secure a preceptor. My field experience counselor said she would look into it and get back to me, but I'm not counting on them to submit a request.

Any luck with finding a nurse informatics preceptor? I'm unfortunately in the same boat.
