i was wondering. the thread on infection control said that when the patient is on DROPLET PRECAUTION, you only have to wear a MASK. but there are some questions i've encountered (kaplan included), said that a mask, gown and gloves is required.
please advice. thanks!

Yes, you need the gown and gloves as for standard ( used for all clients except for gown when you know there may be mucus or spill). The mask is needed for pts on Dropplet if you will come as close as 3 feet from patient. You can also leave the door open. Hope I helped

and remember that RSV is CONTACT...it might help you on NCLEX
Kaplan got me so many times with that. LOL

RSV Contact not Droplet.
Airborne (closed door) N-95 mask
Droplet (open door) surgical mask
