I'm going to scream...

Published

I met with an adviser today at my second-choice school, and she rudely informed me that they're suddenly requiring the TEAS test for entrance. That information would have been helpful BEFORE I applied. They suddenly made this new requirement take effect without updating their paperwork, brochure or website. I just sat their with my mouth gaping open, unable to form words.

I am so annoyed. The worst part is they are spotty on who they actually tell. My friend who is applying to the program in the Fall, like I am, wasn't told this new information when she met with the same lady last week. I was so close to telling the adviser to just shred my application.

If I'd have known this information a while ago, I could have actually had time to study for it. But now, I'm knee deep in Spring classes and I don't really have extra time to take on new studying projects. My second-choice school has now dropped to the bottom of the list. And I may scream.

Ok Ok, Breath....

Its not that bad of a test. Its nothing but an endurance test. Give yourself a week or two to practice.

BTW: Shame on the school for doing this to you!!

I agree with this. If you've taken any kind of math class and A&P within the last year or so you'll be fine with 1-2 weeks of studying.

Good luck!

I totally agree with the above posts. I studied for about 4 days on the big topics and took the test. Relax and take it. Nursing school will give you plenty to stress out about, but this isn't one.

I know I can do it, I just didn't plan appropriately to study for it. With my current course load, volunteering and working... studying for another test wasn't on the agenda.

I'm just so disappointed that the school suddenly decided to make the test a requirement. Something like that should require ample warning so students can comply. I've also just had such bad experiences with all of the nursing staff I encountered at this school... that alone makes me re-think applying... regardless of the TEAS.

Thank you guys for making me feel better about being able to pass it :)
