IENCAP

Hi guys...just want to ask some help or advice regarding what to expect in IENCAP in canada.. I am an internationally educated nurse applicant in Ontario and recently I received an invitation from touch stone institute to have the evalauation program as a requirement for registration. Just want to know if any of you have an idea on what will be the whole procedure of the evaluation? Thank you!

They have offered for you to take IENCAP even though you haven't been practicing nursing for more than 5 years? Something doesn't make sense. In Ontario you must have practiced nursing within the past 3 years, or you must start again in the beginning. In other provinces, it's 5 years. Am I missing something?

Well they (The CNO) have had my NNAS report with them since August 2016.

I phoned to double check if I was actually eligible to take IENCAP,turns out I am.

Wow, that's strange. They are supposed to treat everyone equally. But hey, if I was you I'd hurry up and do it before they change their mind :)

Hahahaha, cheers!

Do you have any recommendations as far as study material goes?!

Thanks :)

Hi Payal,

Were you able to register yourself for iencap now ? which date did you choose for the iencap?

I would say please dont waste your money on this IENCAP, this is a new way of Earning money. CAnada is in financial trouble, and immigration is the way of earning money, in Ontario state nurses are not required much, imagine they hv their own gradutes and existing nurses and other foreign nurses already working, Why wud they need more. This is the reason they came out with one more layer of examination ie IENCAP, if you pass only then can you write NCLEX. else they will suggest you to do a course. Foreign experiences is not even considered by CNO. Its sad. The fee of IENCAP increases year on year. Also if at all you clear Both exams. there is no Guarantee of getting a permanant nursing job in ontario most of the nurses are on Contract. it means they can hire and fire you whenever they want. So my suggestion if your current job is good, then dont take the decision of canada, or else try USA or australia. I have already spent 5000 dollars on express entry , documentation, NNAS, CNO, WES all put together, and when i reach this stage they say u need IENCAP which was brought in lat year. i have 13yrs international exp, which according to CNO is not upto their standards.. WOOOW.
