Hi Everyone,
I am looking into attending ICHS and wanted to know what are some of the best places to stay in Florida while conducting clinical studies?

Im thinking about starting in October. Maybe even the August Cohort. Looking for affordable places too or maybe share
I have yet to receive a response back, but if I find anything I will definitely let you know.
I have a friend who just completed and got her RN.. she said the school is affiliated with hotels there.

What has she said honestly about the school?
I am thinking of going ahead and joining.

Yes the school has a discount code for a hotel there when the time comes.
Unfortunately, you won’t need it for awhile. I am currently in Capstone and was supposed to graduate 9/18/22. When the clinical schedule was opened to us, it filled up in seconds. By the time I was able to pick days, it was already in October. So now I will not be able to finish my clinical days until mid December. Then the next exit exam that is available isn’t until mid January. So that is 4 months past when I should be graduating. I read all the bad reviews on here prior to enrolling thinking people were maybe being dramatic or sour because they aren’t passing. Well… they were right. I have passed with flying colors, and I would never recommend this school to someone I knew. It is chaos. You will 100% be teaching yourself. The information is presented as very surface level because there is SO MUCH information to get through each week that you will only have time to read it once. Most weeks there are 25+ assignments. Not kidding you I was spending 60-70 hours a week on assignments. You do not get a break between semesters. Then to make matters worse, you are tested on very very specific inform that you have never seen or been educated on. The rules change constantly and the school is very poor at communicating.
Take a look at their NCLEX pass rates and how many students that is based on. The school is on the brink of being unaccredited because of this. There is a ton more to say, but truly you should run. If you decide to do it, there are some things to know. You more than likely will not graduate on time. The clinicals are at nursing homes and special needs facilities for children. You will not step foot in a hospital. You will spend $8-10k on traveling to FL for clinicals. You do not have a break between semesters. You take your final on Monday-Thursday depending on the class and start the next semester on the following Monday. This is accelerated and if you aren’t already at least an LVN or similar, it’s nearly impossible.
Yes, this schools price is cheap but so is the education. Look elsewhere. I wanted so badly for this to be amazing and worth it. To be honest it’s been horrible. My mental health has never been this bad. I barely have time to do normal daily activities and I barely get to spend time with my family. Nursing school is hard anywhere, but this place does not care about the students. There are 200-300 in each cohort. There is no one to one connecting with professors and subpar teaching. You will have so much “busy work” that you aren’t able to retain much. Much less study to really comprehend what you are supposed to be learning. I am in my last few weeks of the theory class and I feel so unprepared and still have not had one day of clinicals. Disappointed is an understatement!

I am very nervous reading this and other horrible reviews about this school. I intend submitting my application for February cohort . I chose this School because I wanted an online class so I can have a little time with family and a new born but with all these , it seems horrible . Does anyone know any other online nursing school to enroll? I am desperate to get in early next year.

Try Nightingale. You can search for it and join forums to talk to their students.
I just started in the October Cohort at ICHS and so far it is going well. There are about 350 students in our cohort. So far it's cool.
We will have clinical orientation on Friday to learn about how clinicals will go for our class. We do clinical simulations and skills labs online for now.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Seems you prefer I go to Nightingale instead. Let me check it out. Once again, thank you ??

@MrsDean2022 Hi! Since your cohort has 350 students, how is the school going to arrange all of them to go in person for clincials every semester? Have you guys done your clinical orientation for more info? If so, anything you can share with me? TIA!

I understand @MrsDean2022. LOL. I appreciate it a lot. I know of someone in ICHS who hasn’t done any clinicals but done with her first semester. I actually don’t know how they will cope . I wish you the best
