Congratulations!! Thank you so much for the feed back! Reading the comments here made me second guess myself if I should pursue it. What should I review if I want to take the lvn test to skip pharm and fundamentals? When it comes to clinicals is there a schedule that you can choose? I read some comments and some people didn’t graduate on time because they couldn’t get their clinicals scheduled. Gah I’m just so scared ?

They are working to fix that now.

Many LVN students said to study HESI question. Many don't pass pharm but do pass the Fundamentals. So they have a semester with Pharm only.

Clinicals are self scheduled. Once you sign the acknowledge and are complaint with physicals, vaccines, backgrounds, etc. Yoy are able to schedule clinicals. With the new change you will get help with block scheduling for the semester your are in. The days required will be all together and no longer scattered. Clinical staff are working woth students to get their days so we are starting ti be scheduled on time. The previous students are getting theirs done so the school can move forward and beginning to ease the complications of getting clinicals.

I would not read anything more old posting as the school is working on new policies and clinical procedures starting next semester Feb. They have listened to the students and made some changes which will help us all going forward. Things will be different.

Study a HESI nursing fundamental and Pharm book. I didn’t, I studied an NCLEX and only passed Fundamentals.
freshen up on your calculations and rounding rules, and do your self a favor now and learn dimensional analysis instead of order/on hand because it doesn’t work for all the complex calculations.
look at Elsevier study materials because that’s all we use. Good luck.

I agree. Look for material that have this on it. This school uses HESI and Elsevier Evolve books deals with HESI material.

I bought extra HESI study material and some guides I will use for clinicals.

Learn all the formulas since each Professor has a preference but different calculations require certain formula. Do not stick to just one.

Hope we are of help.

I agree with everyone, study a lot of HESI style questions for the program because that’s what they use. Clinical hours you can choose Am or Pm or it’s whichever they give you and it’s Mon-sat. So you can choose accordingly. If you want to test out of pharm and fundamentals, study any question bank and do a bunch of fundamentals questions. No particular area bc it comes from all content, and for pharm do calculations. Go and watch nurse Sarah’s videos on YouTube and she explains well. Try using dimensional analysis for math bc if you don’t understand it well, you can usually figure out using dimensional analysis. Hope this is helpful

Thank you so soo much!! I’ll get started with the studying! I truly appreciate it!

School does HESI testing so any HESI Pharm and Fundamentals.

The school doesn't have LVN to RN, Just straight ASN but if you pass both you can skip the 1st semester of the program. Most say Pharm is hard and many don't pass so find HESI studies. Some say Quizlet as well.

FYI the school is making alot of improvements so it is good you are coming in when you are. They are making things better for us.

We are getting ready for finals. Professors put together the Mid Term, reading the Book and doing quizzes is your best bet. They will tell you to know the objectives of each chapter completed. They won't tell you any other way to study or provide study guides. Their guide is all the chapter objective written in a document.

Finals are HESI, still they say read the textbook and study quizzes. Answer the objectives of each chapter. We are using Evolve for our texbooks, quizzes, clinical simulations, lab skills, and Finals.

Some have bought HESI type books that are some HESI NCLEX, some are using testbanks to study, some are joining apps that focus on HESI. There are practice exams for us but not sure if will help us since it did not on the midterm

Praying we pass finals next week.

I just want to know who can lead to me certain books that I can order HESI assistance or anything like that especially for pharmacology. I plan on applying to the program and I want to at least attempt to prepare.

In Amazon look for HESI Comprehensive and the Saunders NCLEX. The current version.  The school uses those teach test taking strategies.  Both books are by Evolve on Elsevier.

Or yourbestgrade.com/HESI

So many HESI material. Any from Elsevier is best since that is what the school uses.

Basically there are no specific books but you can get those 2. Many of us in my cohort bought them since it is also good while in school.
