how should I study pharm?

I failed for my first pharm test in class. I have another coming up in aweek covering 5 chapters. I don't have any pharm background all the medication names are a wonder to me. Since I'm not taking Pathophysiology with this class none of these contraindications or interactions are making any sense to me. How should I study pharm? Pls help.

Do one Chapter a day. Including the questions in the back of the book, any helpful study guides and the online quizzes. Make small little definition cards ( pieces of paper )as you study, that you can pull out anywhere to study the definitions, effects, drug category etc. Thats all I can think of. Of course the best thing is to keep up in class so we dont need to do so much come exams. :chuckle

'Straight A's for Pharmacology' is a great book to help you break it all down.

Also, that has already been talked about, write out drug cards, do study guides, study the study guides, read chapters and high-light the important parts.

Then 2 days before the exam review your high-lights and all high points to the chapters, AND DRUG CARDS.

Then the day before do all the quizzes and on-line exams and NCLEX reviews questions and all critical thinking for each chapter.

GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS HELPS...
