Well I was a stripper 7years ago right when I turned 18 was there for a bit and got married and quit. Never had children now 25 and don't have a job. Worked as a CMA for a bit and hated the pay and the ppl I worked with weren't so nice so I quit. Thinking about going back to dancing to help pay for my student loans.. I really want to be an RN but really confused on wether I should waste 2years when really I can be staking money? I eventually want to get into business like house flipping on the side from nursing or I can go the other route be a stripper while I can young not bad looking and a rocking body and save for my business in house flipping.. Any ex strippers or side strippers from nursing? I know of a girl that did it on the side from her nursing career made bank$$$. I've also thought about going that route stripping and nursing for a bit up till I save up for my business than do nursing and my business on the side and eventually quit nursing.. I'm heading more towards nursing since I am married my husband makes good money but I want to do something for myself! I want to start a family soon as well. Oh and also I made very good money working as a dancer, every day was deferent but I can say it was about what a top RN makes a year or more. It's one of the easiest high paying jobs I've ever had that's the only reason I'm looking into it again, it's a great way to invest in my opinion wether it's paying student loans or saving money for a business like house flipping.. My fear is going into the medical field as a RN and experiencing horrible unprofessional management and hating it, big possibility that will happen again if I don't move, but just totally wasting time on my education when I could save money good mounts of money and use it for business. Any feed back is appreciated. I came across some old posts about ex strippers or strippers being nurses on the side but they are old posts hope someone could reply. Thanks for reading

If you don't want to be a nurse (and it appears you do not) then skip nursing school. Be a stripper/dancer and flip houses. You aren't likely to "make bank $$$$" as a nurse. If you live in a state with a moral turpitude clause stripping could affect your ability to be a licensed nurse.
You seem to feel your ultimate goal is to own a house flipping business funded by your stripping so why bother with nursing school? Go in the direction of your dreams if that is your desire

Well I have always loved the medical field that's why I want to become a nurse and it's a well respected career that pays well as well. I worked as a dancer when I had just turned 18 for sometime and it's good money. I also know someone that is a nurse and does some stripping on the side but she doesn't let ppl know about it she's very quiet about it. And yea I was aware that some states wouldn't like it but I wouldn't run around telling ppl I work a side job as a stripper if I was a nurse I would make sure I had to dance the city over no where near my area. And yes flipping houses is what I eventually want to end up doing full time eventually hopefully! I think having a career as a back up plan not only stripping would benefit me in so many ways for example loans, I would have trouble getting approved for not having an hourly paying job, even tho I know I would pay cash for my business it's always nice to be able to qualify for stuff like that. In the area where I'm at nurses make good money, it might not be stripper making money but it's good decent respected career money. I'm just letting you know what's on the top of my head my decisions are not made just scared that couple years down the road when I'm doing business to think yes it would of been nice if I were to of finished nursing school I wouldn't have to still work as a dancer here there. The thing with business is you never know what to expect one minute you're fine and the next you're not.
Are you already an LPN as per your user name? In other threads you said you're a CMA. There are no guarantees in this world. The areas that pay the highest rates for nurses also have the most competition and higher nurse unemployment rate. There is not much job security, slightly more if union .
Just like in business there is instability and unexpected obstacles the same with nursing. There is no guarantees. Reimbursement rates dwindle, budgets are cut, nurses are reduced in salary or in numbers staffed or work with higher patient to nurse ratios. There are no guarantees in anything in life.

Many years ago, I got married to a guy in the Military. He started drinking heavily and abused me. I knew I had to get out for my own safety. We eventually got divorced. In the meantime I owed money to school and could not re-enroll until the money I owed was payed back. I also needed to make a living wage so I could support myself. I worked a full time job 5 days a week and danced 1-2 nights a week on the weekend. I literally HAD to if I ever wanted to go back to school and get out of my abusive relationship. It is NOT something I am proud of, I only did it for a couple months to pay back what I had to pay back to get back into school. I recommend not doing dancing unless you really have to. It doesn't sound like you want to be a nurse. Nursing school is hard and to be successful you have to really want it. Those who go into nursing don't go into this field for the money. They go into it because they have a passion for it. It sounds like your heart isn't into it. Go with your heart but I highly recommend pursing an education, it will only be harder to go to school once you have a family. Dancing is hard to get out of because the money is good and it is easy. However, it is not worth it. Once out, stay out. House flipping sounds great, but the market and the economy is constantly changing. Perhaps try to a career in real-estate if that is your true passion. Good luck.

I'm suppose to attend LPN school this year but debating on that! I've been wanting to be a nurse for about 6years now.. And yes I am a CMA worked as one last year for a couple of months and quit and a stripper about 7years ago now.
Thanks for the sincere reply, and so sorry to hear what you went through congrats on your nursing change in career from a dancer glad to see ppl improve in life:).I never really minded being a stripper I quit cuz of my husband and went to school for CMA shortly after than worked as a CMA last year and hated the pay and the ppl I worked with weren't so nice so I just quit. I been wanting to be a nurse for 6years now always planned on becoming a nurse but recently got interested in house flipping figuring out what I really want which is financial freedom. The reason I keep trying to head towards nursing is cuz it's a career I would enjoy as well cuz I also enjoyed working as a CMA but the management was crappy so I left. Nursing is a rewarding career something to be proud of doing, stripping is not something to be proud of but makes the money. I know it's possible to be a nurse and do house flipping on the side, sounds smart to invest and have cash and the credit to do anything but also the financial freedom isn't there. I would be waking up to a job that counts on me to be there, not my own boss other words. I guess being a nurse just feels more promising and rewarding, but so does money in my bank account so I just dk what to do spend 2years in nursing school or live another life as a dancer and put money up for house flipping. I will never admit to my husband that I will go back to dancing he eventually will find out but just being selfish while I still can I guess. And yes I want to start a family I know it sounds crazy with my plan as a dancer

So, it seems like you're not really committed to being a nurse. Perhaps, maybe a CNA to start with may give you the clarity and insight into the profession as to whether or not this is the profession for you. Many hospitals/ nursing homes will train you to be a CNA for free.
I'm already a CMA with experience in the medical field. A CMA does way more than a CNA we do injections, labs etc. I had LPNs working with me and they would do the same job duties as the CMAs. I loved working in the medical field and know how it can be, I've re thought my career cuz of negative ppl I worked with and wonder if it's like that everywhere I will go. But aside from that I'm sure it's deferent being a RN. An RN is a well respected career and even tho stripping pays more or the same as a top dollar nurse I still find it worth going to nursing school just a bit confused at the moment cuz I can be saving lumps some of $$ or be in nursing school this fall.

You'll have your share of negative people anywhere you work. You just have to learn how to work around it, ignore it and go to work to do your job not make friends, if there's time for it great but at least you can say I came to work and did what I had to do. Most people go to nursing for the money which is understandable cause we all need to make a living but I see so many incompetent nurses or with faces that they don't want to be there (not saying that would be you) just in general. Think about it real good it's not a walk in the park
Yes I know it's not a walk in the park crap not even my CMA job was a walk in the park. I've been very dedicated in getting my RN for so long that I'm suppose to attend LPN in August for fall term. Than a month or so ago or should I say I've been feeling this way since I can remember from my first CMA job that I just felt belittled and not only from my coworker but from the NP! Like seriously NP! She would gossip along with the other CMA and since I don't like gossip or talk trash on patients when they would leave like they would I was considered the out cast and that's exactly how they made me feel. It was horrible up to the point during my training yes my training the Np made a rude comment to one of the patients about me in front of me, for goodness sake I was training she compared me to the other MAs on how deferent and well they did things compare to me long story short I quit! My job previous to that was fine I was there longer but quit that to have a job closer to home, I'm really thinking it's just my city where I live it's not big. I've never came across a clinic like my previous job the one I quit cuz they were rude snobs! I'm nice easy going I just don't follow along with others, I find it annoying to hear ppl always talking smack on other ppl specially patients, like common! So what I'm getting at with all this is cuz I question is this long journey of nursing school worth it? When 2years of savings would be life changing for me. Yes eventually I think I would be able to save somewhat the same amount working as a RN in the long run but just a thought that went through my head, the reason I want to save is to start business get down to business. I don't see myself working as a nurse forever. And my opinion whoever says they wouldn't mind that it's their life they are liars! Why cuz who wouldn't want to travel and be financially free? Why would anyone want to work 40hrs a week for years and years. Yes I understand life is work but there's also other ways to make faster easier and more money than a 40hr job.. The only benefit of becoming a nurse is feeling like your helping and making a change, feeling proud of becoming something professional not stripping. Long story short yes I would choose to own my own business over nursing, I think anyone that financially can would.

I worked with a stripper who was an RN. We all knew about the side job. Not a problem at all. It's not illegal, just questionable for some. I know it's good money.
One big concern, though, is that real estate is not an easy ticket to riches. Nursing is a much better investment of money and I speak from 20+ years of experience in both.
However, if you did not like your medical assistant job, or CNA work, I do question whether nursing is a good career fit for you. If you have the talent, looks, and ability, stay with your dancing career!
