I need help with thank you note

Ouch...at least send the email and write a thank you note ASAP. 2-3 days is a big delay given mail travel rate these days. If you plan to be seeing this woman in person soon I guess you could give it to her that way. I personally see it as setting you apart from others when you send a hand written thank you in the mail. I just fear it looking like an after thought if you wait much longer.

yeah... I'm planning to bring it to her tomorrow first thing in the morning. Hopefully, she accepts.

Call me old school (which would be accurate) but you've turned the thank-you note into a widget. A thank you note is a heart felt expression not an obligation. Mail it in the hospital mail-room before hand delivering it IMHO.

Well, the fact that I forgot didn't mean that I didn't appreciate that she took out time and interviewed me. I forgot because I had a lot of things going on in my life and I simply unintentionally forgot. I'm just asking sincerely for advice to seek for a better way to make up for my mistake. Don't take me wrong.

I don't think 2-3 days is that long at all. Send a real, heartfelt note out in the mail today or through the hospital mail room if at all possible. A lot of people totally forget or just don't even realize that a thank you note is a really nice thing to do, so the fact that you are even sending one likely puts you leaps and bounds ahead of many other people. I am a HUGE fan of the thank you note, but a few days delay will not tarnish the sentiment of what you are doing. Good luck on the new job!

I wasn't being snarky and I'm sorry if I offended. I don't understand why you think you've only got 2-3 days to mail one. Brides and new grads think they have over two months (for an example).

Personally, I felt if you hand delivered the Thank-you note and the NM hasn't hired you or completed the job interviews then it would be akward. That's why I suggested taking it to the hospital mail room and asking them to put it in her box. Also, I hired RN's for over six years and my decision never once hinged on a Thank-you note.

i agree with this.

and, would not deliver anything in person.

she asked you to wait a week.

to ignore that request, could be perceived as a tad disrespectful and maybe even smothering.

bringing it to mail room is more acceptable.

nothing can ever replace the handwritten note, signed, sealed and delivered (but not by you!)
