hi everyone!
i'm in need of some help please. i submitted my questionnaire and cv to my recruiter a couple months ago and was just informed this month that the board changed some of the questions and they want a more detailed cv. i am wanting some help/suggestions on how to answer this question:
"would you like to provide the selection board with any further information on specific aspects of your academic record or application file?"
i know it will be kind of difficult for help on specifics, but i think i have address most things in the previous questions and would be grateful for any suggestions. my recruiter informed me today that i was given the go ahead to schedule a date for meps but i have to have these questions and cv turned in .
thank you all in advance :redbeathe!
this question has really stumped me and i finally came up with an answer that i think works. can you please tell me what you think. i am open to suggestions or ways to improve my response.
[response]: throughout my college and professional careers, i have demonstrated motivation, determination, perserverance, and leadership skills. when challenges came my way academically, i met the tasks head on and took the necessary steps and classes needed to achieve my goal. i believe throughout my application file i have shown how i would be an assest to the united states air force profession of nursing.
thank you all again :redbeathe

So, how did things go for you? I just today read your request and I thought your response was okay. I would have included an example on how you've met academic challenges in the past. Just my opinion.
Let us know what is going on with you!

You want to tell them something specific that they can't derive from your CV or transcript. For example, fitness is a big deal in the military as is leadership. If you ran a marathon or even did Couch to 5K to improve yourself, that is a big deal. If you have leadership experience, team captain in school, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, tutoring, precepting, unit practice counsel, charge nurse, etc. It helps with leadership if you can briefly describe a leadership challenge and how you handled it. Even if you didn't handle it well, you can discuss what you learned and how you will apply the lesson in the future.
Good luck!
Hi Athena55,
I'm scheduled for MEPS on Friday and possibly my CNO iterview next week. I will take your advise on that and include an example of my academic challenge. I have not yet submitted this paper yet but planning to do so by Friday. After these next few things I think I will just be waiting to hear what the board decision is. I will definitely keep you posted once I get all this turned in and have the interview.
Thank you,
Hi LLLovely,
I know I referenced leadership and volunteering a lot in my CV and previous questions, so I will try to briefly touch on that again and talk a little more about fitness too. I am actually doing the couch to 5k. I recently read a previous post by Lunah (I think) and she recommended it. I will come up with something that shows more of an example. Summing up everything in 2 pages is more difficult than it sounds, LOL.
Thank you for all of your advice and suggestions,

Yeah, I've pimped that C25K plan several times in this forum! I loved it. :) Really eased me into being a runner in a way that made me love it, not hate it!
Good luck, and please keep us posted...
