I need some advice

I am currently a medical assistant working towards a nursing degree in Atlanta, GA. I am in school taking my prerequsite classes for nursing, but I am about to start taking my nursing classes for the LPN program, then RN program afterwards. After this semester the classes that I am required to take are all in the a.m for long hours are my actual nursing classes. I have a job as a medical assistant that I am very happy and comfortable at and I don't want to interrupt my job. I have been looking online and I saw a school called Phoenix something and they say that you can make your own hours and work as well as take online classes. That would be so cool. My question is does anyone know of a legitimate school that allows you to do that? Or does anyone know about this school because I love my 9-5 job. Thanks in advance!!!

University of Phoenix has many online programs. The problem with trying to put together an online nursing program to get your RN degree is that there are many labs and clinicals to do, and they just can't do this with an online program. They do, however, offer a masters degree program that you can do online, but you have to be an RN first, and have a bachelors degree.

Although I have no first hand experience with University of Pheonix, my husband did complete a degree with them. Although it was convenient, and didn't get in the way of his job, it was VERY expensive. You may want to look into what they cost before getting too far along with on-line degreees because what you gain in convenience, you may lose in expense.

you can't get in to pheonix unless you have a prior RN license, I believe the only thing they offer is a RN- BSN program.

I am in your same situation but lucky for me I found a RN program at night.

You have to sacrifice things to get to where you want to go.

When life hands you lemons....make lemonade. It can be done.

What state do you live in that offers night classes for RN's?

Mississippi. I am going to Holmes Community College in Ridgeland.
