I know this topic has been touched many times before, but NCLEX-PN (in California)...

So, I took the exam on the 23rd. I was taking "exams" online and a couple weeks ago I was scoring REALLY LOW (below 55), then the week before, up to the night before, I was scoring 60 +, day of, back to 60 below. I attribute the day of to nerves.

Anywho, I digress...

This is my THIRD attempt! The first time, I went to 205; second time I maxed out the questions; this time I got to 180 (ish). So I see it this way - either I did so horribly that the computer thought "she's so below standards, I'm just giving up on her." OR "there, we're good." I'm trying my best to stay confident and I REFUSE to do the PVT. I'm too nervous and don't want another let down.

So here's my question: Due to the changes at the BVNPT (cut funding, short staffing, etc.), how long did it take for you to get your results in California if you've taken the NCLEX recently? I already checked the BVNPT site to see if my name is there, but I'm sure it's too soon to tell (this is just a way to quell my nerves and not try the PVT.)

Thanks in advanced!

I took my NCLEX RN in California on Monday. I got the good pop up every day since then but have not seen my name on the BreEZe website yet. Most of my friends have seen theirs after 2-3 days. I don't know what is taking so long!! I am beyond anxious. I hope you don't have to wait that long.

You will not appear on the BVNPT website until you pay the $150 licensing fee. You can't pay the licensing fee until you receive your pass letter from the BVNPT. You pay the application fee then once you pass you pay the licensing fee. You need to stalk your mailbox not the BVNPT license verification site. ;)

It's different for NCLEX-RN /BRN.

From the CA BVNPT FAQ:

19. EXAMINATION RESULTS - I HAVE JUST TAKEN THE LVN TEST. CAN YOU TELL ME THE RESULTS? HOW LONG BEFORE I AM MAILED MY EXAMINATION RESULTS?

Under no circumstances shall examination results be given over the telephone. The applicant must wait to receive his/her results in the mail.

It takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks for the results to be mailed out.

Examination results are produced by the NCSBN and sent to the Board for processing. NCSBN does not always send the exam results in the order the exam was administered. Applicants must wait at least 3-4 weeks to obtain their official results.

20. FEES- I ALREADY PAID $150.00 TO THE BOARD. DO I HAVE TO PAY THE NCSBN $200.00 TO TAKE THE NCLEX-PN ALSO?

Yes, there are two fees involved each time you take the exam.

The $150 fee is for the application review and processing.

The $200 fee which goes directly to the NCSBN is for the examination.

An initial licensing fee of $150 will be charged to obtain the license after successful completion of the licensing examination.

So for LVN in CA, apply & pay $150 application fee, register with Pearson Vue & pay $200 to take NCLEX, take test, wait 3-4 weeks for letter advising pass/fail status, PASS! Return letter to BVNPT for initial license fee and await your name to appear on BVNPT website & licensing card in the mail.

Hang in there!
