Is there any nurse out there that has been reported to state nursing board??? I have been reported to the state nursing board in the state that I live, the person that reported me,has told LIES,She lied and accused me of things that are so not true,I am a brand new nurse and I am so worried about losing my license or even having them suspended for any length of time.I have had a few people tell me that it is my word against hers and more than likely they are going to believe her, because the nursing board is not for the nurses but for the consumers.I am scared that if I get my license suspended that any time I try to get a job as a LPN that will be hanging over my head,I don't know what to do.I am in trouble!
Why would someone do this to me,why would someone report lies to the board,I never did anything to this woman. Can I go back and sue her for defamation???
I am brokenhearted,I worked hard to get my license and now the thought I am going to lose it makes me so sad.

Your story is one of the reasons AN suggests all nurses carry malpratice insurance. Representation before BON due to complaints is included in most policies... average cost is ~125.00/yr.
