All my life I wanted to be in the medical field. For some strange reason, all of a sudden I decided to be a vet. This prompted me to apply to Clemson University and take Animal Science. I finally came to my senses and realized it wasn't for me. So I withdrew from those courses so I can focus on my pre-requisites to get into nursing school. I got into Georgia State University ( I live in Georgia) as a pre- nursing major for Spring 2014. I'm only a freshmen, so I changed my mind on time, but now I'm freaking out! What if I don't get in? Chemistry is kicking my butt. I am reallyyyy pushing for around a C, i know that isn't good, but that's how much it's killing me. If I don't get in my whole career is going to be pushed back a year. I don't know, sometimes I really stress myself out

Are you taking advantage of tutoring or other resources that are available to you? Have you obtained some additional texts/references to help you understand the material? Doing very well in your science courses is essential. Not only in terms of achieving a GPA that will qualify you for admission to the nursing program, but also .... they are the foundation of what we (nurses) do!
If you have not already done so, make an appointment with your instructor to obtain his/her advice on improving your performance. They know exactly what is going on, and can provide much better advice than we can.
BTW, the broad term for our industry is "health care" rather than "medicine". The only people who entitled to practice "medicine" are physicians... the rest of us are health care professionals.
Thanks! Correction noted. I've been using my resources, but for some reason the information just doesn't click with me. I must admit, before my first test i slightly slacked off- I just had too much going on at once. I was originally deciding to take nursing at Clemson, so I was advised to take my pre-reqs AND Animal Science as my 'back-up' in case I didn't get accepted. Now that I withdrew from all those animal science courses I'm doing much better.
I contacted my professor and he gave me some real good advice. I'll just have to work my butt off I suppose.

Well for one it was smart of you to drop pre-vet because the pre-reqs for Vet school are 100x harder than nursing.
It's really just putting your nose to the grindstone, going over concepts and working with study groups. If you don't understand something in class don't wait RAISE YOUR HAND. You are paying for them to answer your questions.
