I currently work per diem at a hospital, but have been looking into sub school nurse positions as I had a rotation in nursing school at an elementary school and I loved it.
I just had an interview last week with a school district. They did not offer me a job yet, but I had to get fingerprinted as well as fill out tax forms and direct deposit forms. The woman interviewing me said that it had to be approved by the board of education at a meeting on the 18th of November and once it's approved I can start working as early as the 20th of november. So it sounds like they are going to hire me, it just has to be approved first.
Well around the time I applied for the sub nurse position that I already interviewed for, I applied for a sub nurse position in a different school district. They just called me today (I missed the call, I was in the shower) wanting to know if I can come in for an interview tomorrow (which I know I can't interview tomorrow, I have a meeting 8-4 at my hospital job). Should I still interview with them even though it seems like the first district wants to hire me? I don't want to waste anyones time and interview for a job I have no intention of taking if the first district hires me, but I don't want to miss an opportunity if for some reason my employment isn't approved.
What would you guys do?

Sorry this is late, so I don't know if you've already decided. But I would definitely go for the interview, because until you get a firm offer, the first job is not for sure.
Thanks for the reply! I've been playing phone tag with them all week, they always seem to call when I'm I'm the shower or can't answer because I'm at work. I did finally get a hold of them late last week and she mentioned that she would be calling me Monday (today) to schedule an interview after she checked the days with the woman interviewing me. However, she never called me. If she doesn't call tomorrow I'll be calling her Wednesday. Thanks for the feedback!
