Hunter Nursing Program

York is a terrible school, I would really rethink that option. If you know hunter is where you want to be. It's not a bad idea to apply there take some classes, get A's to compete with others applying to the upper division nursing program. I believe you need a overall 3.2 to even to the upper division.

Thank you so much for replying! So you think i should still apply to hunter even though i got a C+ in Statistics and they require a B in order to enter the nursing program? I don't want to apply to the school and then if they accept me, not be able to apply to the nursing program because of that grade. Could i also ask, why you think York is a terrible school? I went to York about over ten years ago as a first time college student. There system is just mediocre...bottom of the barrel, administration is rude and unknowledgeable. They will run you in circles for the simplest tasks. God forbid you have to rely on financial aid to get through school, they will even messed that up. Even down to the bathrooms are intolerable to use! My boyfriend attended York for two years to do Pharmacy pre reqs, same issues. However, he does states that his professors prepared him for his program. My co worker is in the nursing program, she stated how horrible it was. She even planned on going to the board, she felt like she was not getting a adequate education to become a successful nurse or pass the nclex. Just want to add, I'm not a debbie downer. I graduated from a Cuny school with my bachelors, no debt! So I know first hand how vital it is to get an affordable education. Get in where you fit in, its just important to be aware.

Unfortunately, I noticed that Hunter doesn't accept any repeated pre reqs.

just curious, why didn't you look into qcc nursing program?

Wow how unfortunate, really makes me consider not going to York, I am actually going to check if the statistics class i took at QCC is equivalent to the one in Hunter because if not, I can take it. I actually have looked into the qcc nursing program but like i said, i want to be a nurse practioner so to kinda speed up the process. I want to go straight for my bachelors, plus not a lot of places will hire an RN with an associates. Also ive been at QCC for about 4 years unfortunately and no longer want to spend anymore time there.

I would not retake any courses. Just apply to Hunter, take a class there and then apply to the program. Yes, it is ultra competitive, but who knows!

Yea ill apply thank you, and I'm actually going to check York out this weekend. Maybe ask students what they think of it. Ill also talk to QCC about their program because they have a dual joint program with hunter and York as well as another school for nursing.

I definitely understand your situation with QCC. I would look into York though if there is no other options. Do what you have to do to do to achieve your goals. Good luck, you got this!
