Hunter Generic Nursing 2022

Published

Hi! For those applying for Generic Fall, will we have to edit our transcript in Nursing CAS to include our Spring grades? Will that affect the cumulative GPA or will it only include until Fall 2021 GPA? I'm so nervous waiting for the admission decision

Advisor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said that “please update your Spring 2022 grade on NursingCAS, when available.” But she didn’t elaborate if they will calculate Prerequisite only or include all courses.

@Zixuan Mo Ohhh thanks for that, I'll make sure to update my grades too. Also, our PAX scores will be sent directly to the school right? Or do we need to do something on our end?

You need to fill a form to release your score. NLN then will send a email with a PDFof your score both to you and Advisor Maria. Then You could also email the Testing Center to check if your score is in file.

Hey y’all, anyone know if they will be considering Spring 2022 grades for fall 2022 applications? I didn’t think they would normally but in the email they sent out they said we would be hearing back about decisions late June when it is usually late may to early June. Are they doing this Bc they wanna consider both semesters grades for applicants this year?

Hi,

I had the same concern before but the nursing advisor never specifies it. What I think is that if you take one or more of the prerequisite courses in this Spring 2022, then yes, they will wait for you to upload the correspond grades to NursingCAS. However, if you take other common core courses (non-prerequisite courses), they might omit the grades. That’s why they said “they need to (re)calculate the grades” for GPA, which might imply they only calculate Prerequisite courses.

These are just my thoughts.

All the best!

When I got the email saying we'll hear back in late June instead of the first week I got extra anxious. By the way, how did you guys do in your PAX?

I don't know about that because for fall they consider our whole GPA, not just the prerequisites. I don’t think they would switch to considering only prerequisites for the Spring semester right? And I thought that the “recalculate the grades” part means that if were accepted based off our fall grades, they would be checking to make sure our Spring grades still were equal to or above the 3.2 GPA minimum and that we had no lower than a B in any nursing prerequisite. After that recalculation if you fell below 3.2 or had a C in anything your offer would be rescinded. I’m not sure about this though so I apologize if I’m wrong!

Thanks for the insight!

My freshman year was during Covid so I kinda mess up my course schedule and took me an extra year to finish prerequisite courses ( I finished some of the common cores first instead). So this semester I only took psychology courses for my minor.

So if you are correct about the calculation, I should’ve just picked intro courses to boost my GPA…

What can we do now just grind this semester’s GPA up! Good luck!

Same, covid messed up my freshmen year. I was missing a prerequisite and did not do well on the PAX so I had to reapply again for this year. Hopefully we all get in this Fall :>>

hey guys when Spring grades are available I know we are supposed to update them on nursingcas but do we also have to submit a new official transcript like we had to do for fall?
