While reading some of the posts I see that hospital nurses sometimes have their shift cancelled. How often does that happen? Interview coming with McLaren of Flint. Currently in LTC with more overtime than I want/need. Cancelled shifts are worrying me somewhat. Any advice? I'm already not sure of the job because it's nights. But, the pay increase is nice.
Thanks

I find that staffing is frequently feast or famine. A few months ago, I was getting cancelled left and right. Now, I actually have a waiting list: if one department or unit cancels me, others are waiting to use me.
Mind you, I'm a per-diem, so nothing is guaranteed for me. But right now, I'm easily making 40+ hours a week.
Thank you. So much to think about. McLaren doesn't have a lot of nursing jobs come up, it seems.
