How much is the Nursing school interview part of the admission process

The school that I applied to has a 3 step admission process:

1: Your pre-req GPA

2:Pax-RN score (NLN-pre admission nursing exam)

3: Interview

I had ny interview today and I felt I didn't do as good as I ahould have. I even prepared for it week ahead of time, but I guess it was juat the nerves kicking in. : (.

So, what do you guys think?

The school I just got accepted to recently made some big changes to their program (raised hesi score requirements, fired a bunch of staff and began interviewing.) When I called to make an appointment for my interview the admissions rep told me "this will be the deciding factor whether you begin in January or not." Scared the crap out of me but I'm assuming that's because the program received a lot of competitive applications. Grades are important but I think interviewing is just as important.

My university didn't do interviews. They get somewhere in the neighborhood of 35,000 applications a year so it's not feasible. When I was applying to colleges, I think I only went on one interview.

Wow! 35,000 applicants?! Is that to the nursing program or to the whole university?

My program did not do interviews. They base your admission on your TEAS score, GPA, how many co-req's you have taken (micro, communications, sociology), work experience and healthcare license/certification. They rank all applicants by points and take the top people per semester. The amount varies per semester depending on how many clinical spots they have.
