I just barely started studying a few days ago. I'm thinking of taking the exam in 2wks (if i ever get my registration letter in the mail!). So far on my kaplan Q-trainers i've gotten in the 50s. I don't work for the next 2 wks....do you think if i committ all my time the next 2 wks, using kaplan, that I will be prepared enough?
I have never had test anxiety & really don't know how to handle it now that i have it w/ nclex!!!! ugh, i just get overwhelmed & don't want to read a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ps- good luck to you all!

I studied for 2 weeks after taking the Kaplan classes. Didn't work at all in the last month. Studied until I got sick of seeing those meds, scored high 40's on the q-bank but did ok on the Question trainers the last one I got 67% on the Question trainer #7 and that reassured me that I was ready for the test. Slept how I could the night before (I was very stressed) but had some breakfast, and at 0815 I started my test. At 0950 was out and passed with 75q's. One of my teachers said that we should stick to one Review co. Be it Saunders (but the class before us took it and only 60% passed) or Kaplan or Hurst, etc. Stick to one book/online training, etc. Even if you fail, go with the same, review the rationales, understand them and you'll be fine. Kaplan worked well for me. God Bless You!

I studied for 3 months. I used the Saunders book and CD. Almost completed them but got so tired at the end. I only didn't do 3 chapters. I took NCLEX-PN and got the minimum Q's which is 85 for my test. I felt very good about the test. The questions that I could remember I looked up at home and only got one wrong. I feel confident that I will pass the test. Awaiting my results which should come any day now. :)

I studied 3 weeks like a crazy woman, I probably did thousands of Nclex questions off my disks and read the Kaplan book and priority and delegation book. I walked out of Pearson Vue with a smile on my face knowing i passed with 75 questions.
My dear friend just got her ATT last Thursday and was able to test yesterday (sunday) and did maybe 200 questions on Friday only. Her computer also shut off at 75 questions but she thought she only got maybe 5 questions correct and was feeling nervous last night, she found out this morning she passed.
Do what feels right for you. By doing lots of questions it calmed my anxiety. My friend didnt have the patience to do the practice questions nor the time. Different stories, same results. RN

you mean, she only did 200 questions total??
She probably graduated from a very good and intense program. They prepared her well for the NCLEX.
On the other hand I felt that my program was too lax. I barely studied while in school. I needed to review ALL the content so my goal was to do the entire Saunders Book. There was just so much that I didn't know and was glad I studied.
yep read that right, 200 total. And yes we did graduate from a university that required us to do 1000 Nclex questions a semester and the only ones we could turn in had to be at an 80% or better with one set of 265 in one sitting, at 80% or better---you know how frustrating it is to take a 265 question test and hit submit to find that you scored a 78%??? Very frustrating--must throw it in the trash and start again!!!
So for 4 semesters we did 4000 questions 80% or higher...
I think it paid off though!!!
