How long before school sends documents to state

Published

I graduated from a practical nurse program October 2nd and the school claimed they mailed out documents to the state October 3rd. I then mailed out my application to the Michigan board of nursing and paid Pearson vue a week later. Everything is approved on my application except the state has no supporting documents from my school. I have called and they keep telling me they mailed it out already. I called the board of nursing and they tell me they haven't received anything and they're not busy at all. The school kept telling us to take the NCLEX right away but the school is the one holding us back from receiving the ATT's. What can I do? I'm getting discouraged especially since I have 2 job offers who only need my test date so I can start working.

Our school had us mail out our applications and start the process a month before we graduated; that way your file will already be started. We graduated the first week of August and the school sent us an email that our transcripts were sent to MI BON in Lansing around the end of July. I am already a licensed pharmacy technician here in MI, so my fingerprints were on file and just had to be transferred from pharmacy to nursing (both are health professions licenses). I received my ATT the last week of Sept., took my NCLEX on Tuesday, and checked the MI BON website today and I'm an LPN!!!!!!!

So I'd say it really depends on your school. I seriously doubt if they sent them the next day though.

Congrats on becoming an LPN!!! Any tips on what I should study before the NCLEX?

I had alot of SATA and prioritizing. Practice those types of questions...I used Kaplan.
